Wexford Juvenile Handball.
In another fantastic week for the youth of Wexford handball there was plenty of Wexford success at the Cumann na mBunscoil Schools handball finals in Kingscourt in Cavan.
Todd Hynes took pride of place winning all his games defeating his Monaghan counterpart 11-4, 11-8, a Limerick opponent 11-5 and 11-4, while he sealed all three wins against the other provinces by beating Connaught champion from Galway 11-6, 11-7 for the under 13 singles event.
Richard Lawlor recorded a fantastic two wins from three in the Under 11 singles. Lawlor lost out to a Monaghan opponent before recovering to beat the Munster champion 11-3, 11-7 and then beat the Connaught champion from Mayo 11-2, 11-4.
Diarmuid Moore and Josh Kavangh also made it two out of three in the under 11 doubles . The Wexford pair lost by a single ace 11-8, 11-7 to Tyrone, before beating Tipperary 11-4, 11-4 and then beating Leitrim’s champions 11-10, 11-10 in a very close competition.
Leinster Juvenile finals being hosted in Wexford.
Next weekend St Joseph’s handball court will be a hive of activity as the final of the Leinster Juvenile Championships take place in the Bishopswater Handball Centre. IN the past week the number of Wexford players qualifying for the finals doubles with the following players joining last weeks semi final winners.
