A huge crowd packed into St Mary’s Handball court in Emmet Place Wexford on Saturday afternoon last as five time World handball champion Paul Brady was in town for the semi final of the intermediate doubles in the big court.
Though more known for his superiority in the small court Brady joined forces with his James Brady in a quest for 60×30 glory, however the huge crowd were partisan and were firmly in the corner of Mikie and Jim Berry on this occasion.
With the Wexford pair more experienced in the big court they delivered when the pressure was cranked up a few gears on this occasion.
The model county men triumphed on a 21-15, 21-18 score line and it sees them into an All Ireland final match up against Oliver Conway and Martin Mulkerrins from Galway in what promises to be a fantastic game of handball.
