Leinster Juvenile Quarter Finals
Wexford and Wicklow clashed last weekend in an eastern Leinster derby of Juvenile handball quarter finals. Ciaran Power got Wexford off to a perfect start as he advanced to the semi final of the under 13 singles by defeating Ross Patterson 15-5, 15-1. In the boys under fifteen singles Tomas Hall accounted for Conor Hill Doyle from the Garden county 14-15, 15-9, 15-10, however Wicklow spiced up their challenge with Daniel Curry winning the under 16 singles quarter final against Keith Armstrong on a 21-16, 21-19 score. In the under 16 doubles Wexford struck back with a hammering courtesy of Seamus Sinnott and Daniel Kavanagh, as they blitzed Aaron Patterson and Aaron Kinsella 21-2, 21-9.
In the girls matches played at the weekend also there was one win and one defeat for Wexford against Wicklow also. Aobhin Myers defeated Cora Doyle from Wexford in the under 13 singles 15-2, 15-7, however Miriam O’Shea was a convincing 15-0, 15-4 winner over Ciara Jordan from the Garden County.
