BUFFERS ALLEY POKER CLASSIC 2012
This year’s Poker Classic will be on Thursday 27th December at 8.30pm in the Buffers Alley Clubhouse. Tickets, priced at 20 euro, are now on sale from club members. This event is a fundraiser for the new Community Arena which is up and running and has proven to be a great addition to the facilities for the local community.
There will be a limit of 120 tickets available and admission will be strictly ticket only, however there will be tickets available on the night. There is guaranteed prize money of 1000 euro but we would expect to match if not exceed last year’s prize fund. It will be ordinary 5 card draw poker and there will also be prizes for the first Poker, Straight Flush and Royal Flush. Buy backs and top ups will again be in operation. The bar will also be running promotions for card players on the night and there will be refreshments served during the half time interval.
Mick Butler emerged from over ninety players as the overall winner in last year’s classic. In all over 1400 euro in prizes was given out last year. All the players at the final table on the night received prizes: 1st Mick Butler, 2nd Winnie Nolan, 3rd Gavin Donovan, 4th Cormac Foley, 5th Tony Doran Snr. and 6th Joe Murphy. All players at the final table will receive complimentary entry into this year’s classic. Gerry Kelly and Aidan O’Connor received prizes for the first Straight Flush and Poker respectively. In a first for this tournament Frances Sinnott received a prize for a Royal Flush.
