The Wexford hurling team that will face Clare in Ennis this Sunday in the penultimate round of the group stage of the National Hurling League Roinn 1b has been named.
The Limerick game was certainly a set back and a disappointment for both supporters and the squad themselves. Clare are top of Roinn 1b of the league and under, former Clare goalie and Waterford manager Davy Fitzgerald, have gotten off to a great start. The team sees a number of changes from the last day and notably sees the return of Diarmuid ‘Gizzy’ Lyng to the match day panel for the first time in 18 months while the Rathnure 19 year old, Jack Guiney makes his first start.
This game is a timely test for Wexford and what better way to react to falling off the horse than to get right back on. This is another step along a long road back and let’s hope the lads can pull out a win. The game throws in at 2.30pm in Cusack Park, Ennis.
