Wexford minor footballers extended their run in this years Electric Ireland Leinster Championship with a much improved and deserving win of 2-11 to 9 points over neighbours Carlow last night in Wexford Park. After Cormac O Rourke opened the score line wexford looked in control of the game besides some remote patches of danger in the form of Carlow’s corner forward Diarmaid Walshe who was one of Carlow’s two scorers on the night hitting home 7 points the other being wing forward Shane Noonan scoring 2. Wexford’s scoring power on the other hand came from all of the forwards with Donal Shanly (1-2), Eoin Roche (1-1), Tom Byrne (0-3) Paudie Barden (0-2) and Cormac O Rourke and Sub Connor Farrell scoring a point each which helped Wexford into their 3rd round with louth on Wednesday night next in Wexford park. If we pass that hurdle Wexford will be out again in the Quarter final on Saturday 11th May.
