Wexford lost to Westmeath in the Leinster senior football quarter final today in Mullingar on a scoreline of 1-21 to 0-15.
Behind by 1point at the break Wexford fought hard against a light breeze to go into a two point lead with 10 minutes to go.
An unfortunate missed pass let Westmath through for a gaol and from then on the hime side confidence was boosted while this young Wexford team wilted under the pressure.
All shots by Westmeath seemed to go over the bar in those closing minutes and the final scorline doesnt reflect the great effort made by the players.
They now go into the qualifiers where they play Down in Innovate Wexford Park on Saturday June 27th.
Time of throw in will be confirmed later.
