Senior Hurling Managerial Appointment

Keith Rossiter was ratified as manager of the Wexford Senior Hurling Team together with the following members of his backroom:

• David Franks (Lead Coach)
• Éanna Martin (Assistant Coach)
• Damien Fitzhenry (Goalkeeping Coach)
• Frank Flannery (Skills Coach)

Additional members of the backroom team will be announced at our next meeting.

Coaching and Games

Changes to Wexford GAA’s Coaching and Games structure were outlined to delegates. The vision is to develop stronger club structures in Wexford through increasing participation, upskilling coaches and improving performance at club level.

Supporting club coaches is the main focus of the new model through The Wexford Way Coach Development Framework together with the existing Wexford Way Player Development Pathway.

Meetings will be held with clubs and schools in the coming weeks to outline this model while a comprehensive review of our underage games programme will be conducted by Coiste na nÓg.

Infrastructure Update

It was announced that an initial €400,000 has been secured through the Immigrant Investor Programme for the development of Chadwicks Wexford Park. It is expected that in excess of €2 million will come available to Wexford GAA under this programme in the coming months. It is hoped to commence works in late October to upgrade dressing rooms, enhance wheelchair user facilities, upgrade press area and commence the replacement of seating.

Phase two of Halo Tiles COE will open in mid-October which will see the opening of a new entrance from the old N11 and the development of three new pitches. These pitches are expected to be playable in summer/autumn 2024.
