Four Wexford clubs participated recently in the Leinster Final of Scór na nÓg in Finglas, Dublin. All clubs performed very well and were unlucky not to qualify for the All Ireland Final. Stephanie Kinsella, Cloughbawn gave a beautiful rendition of Siúl a Rúin in the Solo Singing competition.
Two families represented Rathgarogue-Cushinstown in the Instrumental Music Competition. Aidan, Rebecca and Emmet O’Sullivan Ryan and Grace and Hope Barron did their club proud with a rousing performance on banjo, concertina, guitar, flute and fiddle.
Naomh Éanna girls were competitors in the Ballad Group competition and sang “Kilkelly” and “I know my love” with beautiful harmonies.
Members of this group were Aideen Byrne, Róisín Rooney, Lorna Cushe, Hilda Browne and Aoibheann Doyle. Bannow Ballymitty represented Wexford in the Novelty Act competition. “The coming of Saorview” Sketch was performed by Cian O’Grady, Joe Sinnott, Jane Rossiter, Sadhbh Kelly, Louise, John, Joanne and Niamh Colfer.
Well done to all involved.
