Following the Wexford footballers exist from the championship, the GAA authorities instigated an investigation into events that took place in Longford during our All Ireland qualifier game there.
The outcome was a finding against both counties and a proposed fine of €5,000 each.
As all will be aware, Wexford GAA are still in a challenging financial predicament and as those involved in clubs or fundraising in general will know, €5000 is a lot of money, as a result Wexford appealed this decision.
A hearing by the CHC took place in Croke Park earlier this week and Wexford were represented by Margaret Doyle, Joe O Shaughnessy & Aidan O Brien.
Following the hearing the fine has been reduced to €3000.
David Murphy also requested a hearing on his 1 match ban but was unsuccessful in having this overturned.
