FAO CLUB CHILDREN’S OFFICERS
Belated Happy New Year to everyone.
In advance of receiving confirmation of club children’s officers for 2013, I’m issuing this email to club children’s officers from 2012 so apologies if you receive this email and you are no longer in the role.
The Child Welfare section of the Wexford GAA Webasite has been updated –http://www.wexfordgaa.ie/
The changes reflects that the GAA and its sister organisations recently launched (December 2012) online version of Our Games – Our Code, the joint Code of Best Practice in Youth Sport. This Code has been agreed between the GAA, the Ladies Gaelic Football Association, the Camogie Association, GAA Handball Ireland and the Rounders Council of Ireland.
The Code replaces all previous Codes and is a mandatory Code of Best Practice for all Gaelic Games Associations in our work with underage players. It is a comprehensive good practice guidance publication covering all the various policies and procedures.
Please take some time to view this document as the contents sets out the framework for your work in the club.
I will be talking to you about this document during the year and I will be issuing a disc version to each of you shortly.
Over the coming weeks I intend to hold an information night and I will advise date asap.
Regards
Dermot
