Thanks to all that participated in the Walk on Monday.
We had over 400 people both experienced hill walkers and beginners enjoying the wonderful scenery on a challenging walk on Black Rock Mountain along The Turf Cutters Trail. The views were spectacular and we were lucky enough on the day to be able to clearly see the coastline of Wales with the naked eye and Fishguard Port using binoculars.
Everyone arrived home safely which is very important when large crowds take to the mountains.
For many people it was their first time to experience our local mountains The Blackstairs, on foot and revealed to many a hidden treasure right on their doorstep. Many said they would return again to repeat the experience with family and friends.
Our thanks to all the people that helped make the walk such a succcess, especially the Murphy Family from The Half Way House Pub and Ted Quinn who entertained us with song on our decent.
Members of Wexford Civil Defence who provided first aid cover on the day,
Coilte for allowing access to their lands especially Declan Doyle and Jesper Peterson;
