Would a child you know like to have an unforgettable day in Croke Park leading out the teams as an official ball carrier in the either Electric Ireland GAA Minor hurling or football Championship finals…
Thursday, 2nd May 2013:
Minor GAA stars, Kevin Foley from Wexford and Mark Sherry from Kildare linked up with former Leinster Minor medal winners and current senior inter-county stars David Treacy from Dublin and Padraig Clancy from Laois to announce that Electric Ireland is giving one lucky child (5-11) from Leinster the opportunity to be the official ball carrier at the Leinster Minor Championships Provincial Finals.
Electric Ireland, proud sponsors of the GAA Minor Championships are giving four lucky GAA fans this once in a lifetime chance. The lucky winners will walk the official match ball out on to the pitch and give to the referee in advance of the minor games. The winners will then watch the game from a prime vantage point.
Electric Ireland also announced details of their new campaign: Electric Ireland Minor Championships: Where Major Stars are Made which hopes to energise current and future minor players by showcasing former Minor players who are now major stars in their chosen discipline of GAA, football, music and business.
Current Minor players, Foley and Sherry took time out to talk to Treacy and Clancy who have both won GAA Minor provincial Championship medals in their respective codes. Treacy won his Leinster minor title with the Dublin hurlers in 2007 while Clancy won the football title with Laois in 1998.
Speaking at the launch, Sean Walsh, Electric Ireland commented: “We are delighted to sponsor the GAA Football and Hurling Minor Championships again in 2013. We believe that players that play Gaelic games at Minor county level have the world at their feet and we want to inspire them to have the power to do with it what they want. They have the potential to be major stars in their chosen field’ be that sporting or business…
Minor level offers young men the opportunity to represent their county through the Championships with the dream of playing in their provincial stadum on provincial finals day and then in Croke Park on All Ireland Final Day.
To be in with a chance to be the official ball carrier at either the Leinster Football Minor Final or the Hurling Minor Final, GAA fans can e-mail their details to the Electric Ireland Facebook page www.facebook/electricireland
