Wexford GAA and County Chairman Diarmuid Deveraux wish Buffers Alley’s Pat Kenny a speedy recovery after he suffered a nasty leg injury today in St Patrick’s Park. Pat was playing for Buffers Alley in a game against Blackwater when in a freak incident, he went for ball falling awkwardly on landing, breaking his femur high up. The game was abandoned and Pat was taken by ambulance to hospital after about 40 minutes.
The latest news is that it was a clean break and should heal well, but he will have to undergo an operation tomorrow and will have a long recuperation period. Pat is a brother of Wexford senior star Bobby and son of Pat senior.
In more injury news, it has been confirmed that Wexford’s superb full back on the senior hurling team this year, Tomás ‘Mossy’ Waters suffered a cruciate ligament tear and possible medial damage in last Saturday All Ireland qualifier against Clare in Thurles.
