Our Wexford Minor hurlers crashed out of this years Leinster Minor Hurling Championship with a 1-14 to 0-13 point defeat over Laois
Despite Wexford putting on huge pressure right to the end Laois somehow held there nerve and advanced to there first Leinster Minor Hurling Final since 1991.
Laois’s first half goal gave them a huge advantage and kept them well in the game at half time despite Wexford enjoying a considerable wind advantage, as the Model men only lead by a point at the break, 0-8 to 1-4. With never more than two points between the teams through out most of the second half The game gradually became a test of nerve, and Laois passed with flying colours as Ciaran McEvoy’s free in the 59th minute opened up a three point lead, and the home team pushed on from there with a four point win
