Our Senior Hurlers play Kilkenny in Chadwicks Wexford Park at 2:00pm on Sunday in the final round of the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship. Entry is by ticket only and tickets are available to purchase online here or from participating SuperValu and Centra stores. Covered Stand tickets are priced at €20 for adults, €15 for OAPs and €5 for U16s. Openside Seating and Clonard Terrace tickets are priced at €15 for adults, €10 for students and OAPs and €5 for U16s. Tickets are required for all children under 16 years of age.
Please note that seated tickets are unreserved, i.e. they are not for assigned seating.
If we win or draw, we are safe from relegation to the Joe McDonagh Cup for 2024. If we lose to Kilkenny, we will need Westmeath to win or draw against Antrim in Mullingar on Sunday to avoid relegation. A win for Antrim will keep them safe and relegate either ourselves or Westmeath, depending on our result against Kilkenny.
From the perspective of the top of the table, if all three teams tie on seven points, they will be separated based on score difference from the games in which they were involved only. Kilkenny are virtually assured a place in the Leinster Final – win, lose or draw. However, there is one permutation where they would not reach the Leinster Final if they lose to us that involves Dublin winning by exactly 3 points and scoring 35 or more points in the process. Dublin may knock Galway out of the Leinster Final spot by winning by 4 points or more on Sunday. All three games are throwing in at the same time.
We need to get behind the team for Sunday and give them every advantage possible on our home patch so, if you can, please do get into Chadwicks Wexford Park and give them your backing.
For those not able to attend, the game will be broadcast on South East Radio and there will be live updates on the game on @OfficialWexGAA on Twitter in association with ESET Ireland.
The team that has been named to play Kilkenny is as follows:
