The extended Wexford hurling squad had another busy weekend of challenge games as they continue their preparations for the upcoming National Hurling League and the U-21 Championship. Wexford fielded a strong side when they travelled to Dublin to take on Anthony Daly’s men. The game was played on Astro turf, a surface notoriously tricky to get to grips with, and so it proved with the almost full strength Dublin team showing their comfort with the artificial surface racing into an early lead. Wexford settled as the game progressed and battled well ending on a final scoreline of 1-20 to Dublin 4-12.
On Friday night a senior development team travelled to Carlow losing this encounter. On Saturday an U21 development side lost to Kildare. Overall the management team are pleased with the progress and performances of all the teams that lined out and the competition for places is reported to be intense.
