Following on from a very successful first round Pettitts Hurling Championship last weekend, the 2nd round games are certainly going to attract much attention this weekend with many teams being put to the test to come out trumps to ensure they move forward in the right direction for the next stage of the Pettitts Championship.
On Saturday next 30th April, St. Martin’s who had a narrow victory over Oylegate-Glenbrien last weekend take on Buffers Alley who had a bye in the first round. This game is expected to go to the wire with high expectations from both clubs. However, St. Martin’s, having a win under their collar, will be hoping to build on last weekend’s success so a great evening of hurling is anticipated which gets underway at 5.30 pm. in Wexford Park. This game is followed by Rathnure and Oylegate-Glenbrien at 7pm. Again, a winner and a loser lock horns here. Rathnure overcame Askamore in their first game whereas Oylegate-Glenbrien narrowly lost to the Piercestown men. Again, all to play for here.
The following day the two Wexford district teams come together – Faythe Harriers and Glynn-Barntown at 3.00 pm. in Wexford Park. These two teams always give their best and with both clubs having many young faces on their panel , one can expect an enjoyable and sporting game. The last game in the senior championship gets underway at 4.30 pm. when the Co. Senior Champions take on the 2010 Intermediate champions – HWH Bunclody. Again, a great game is in store for everyone in Wexford Park.
