It is with great sadness that CLG Loch Garman notes the sad passing of Noel O’Keeffe of St. Anne’s Rathangan, who gave great service to the GAA at both club and county level over the course of many decades.
He was a committed player in his younger days, before turning to management and administration in later years. Through his work as a teacher, he managed teams representing Bunclody Vocational College and later Bridgetown Vocational College, while he also mentored many St. Anne’s teams at various grades.
It is perhaps as an administrator that he was most widely known, however. He served his club diligently for many years, while at county level, positions he held include Vice Chairman of CLG Loch Garman and Treasurer of Coiste na nÓg Loch Garman.
During all those years, Noel was renowned for his valuable and forthright contributions to meetings and his work behind the scenes. He truly was a great servant to the GAA.
A minute’s silence in his memory is to be observed before all remaining matches this weekend, while the tricolour at Chadwicks Wexford Park will be flown at half mast as a mark of respect.
CLG Loch Garman expresses deepest sympathy to the O’Keeffe family on the passing of Noel. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
