Leinster Minor A Ladies Football Championship Semi Final
Wexford Ladies Football Minor team will have home advantage this coming Saturday afternoon at 2pm as they take on Westmeath in the semi final of the Leinster Minor A Championship.
Wexford have qualified for this stage after a two point win over Meath in the opening round in Cushinstown before going down by six points to Laois in the second round away to the midlanders. Westmeath have reached this juncture in the championship after impressive wins over Offaly and Kildare , while they also had one defeat along the way losing out to Dublin.
Wexford have been training hard since early January and have put in huge work to advance to this stage and will hope to go one step further on Saturday.
However two key starting players from the previous two games will miss out on the semi final Sarah Banville is out of the reckoning after damaging ankle ligaments, while a virus has ruled out fellow attacker Aisling Cronin.
The action gets underway in St patrick’s Park next Saturday at 2pm and a big support would be greatly appreciated as the girls look to make the Leinster final, and hopefully set up the first part of a Wexford Minor treble in the coming week as the Minor Hurling and Minor Football teams also enter Leinster championship action in the coming 10 days.
