Wexford retained their Leinster junior Football title this evening with a 2-12 to 0-9 victory over Louth in Dundalk.
Wexford had raced into a 1-3 to no score in the first twenty minutes before Louth found the target. Indeed Louth hit twelve first half wides, and eighteen in total during the game.
At half time Wexford were ahead by 1-4 to 0-5.
The sides were close for most of the second half with Conor Sinnott keeping the Wexford scores ticking over. But in the 56th minute Conor Sinnott hit a point and straight from the kickout Wexford attacked and Sean Ryan goaled to to out the game beyond the reach of the home side.
Conor Sinnott scored 7 points while Sean Ryan hit both Wexford’s goals. one in each half, as Wexford pulled away in the closing ten minutes.
Captain Paraic O’Keefe accepted the cup on behalf of the team.
