The Wexford Junior football team bowed out of this years championship this afternoon when they were defeated on a scoreline of 2-9 to 3-13 by Kerry.
Wexford fielded 3 of this years minors as manager David Power continued his development of a new generation of Wexford footballers.
For experience the legendary Mattie Forde was introduced as a substitute at half time. Wexford had been ahead for most of the game but 2 gaols in 7 minutes midway through the second half gave Kerry a stong foothold in the game. They were flattered by the final scoreline as they added their third goal in injury time.
Wexford are Leinster champions and after 7 years without a win in this grade 2015 has been a major step forward.
Thanks to all the players for their efforts,Mattie Forde, the young up and coming stars, and Anthony Masterson and the other senior panalists who were not too big to play junior in order to help the game amd their county. A great example to all. Well done.
