This coming September as schools return the coaching & games development team through GDA Anthony Masterson will be piloting a new Gaelic football lunchtime league. This will coincide with the Rackard League football competition and give schools the opportunity to give more children the opportunity to play football. Teams will be 7 – aside and each team will have the opportunity to make regional and county finals.
Our two football development officers will be able to support schools in setting these up. Speaking about the pilot Anthony Masterson said “lunchtime leagues are a simple but effective way to be active, make friends & have fun while playing the games we love”. Myself and Diarmuid Byrne are aiming to increase participation and have a link with the local club to develop the confidence of playing, by giving all children more games opportunities”
