Cairde Loch Garman Club Players Awards
Sponsored by Glen Fuels
Wexford GAA are delighted to announce the launch of a virtual Awards night on Saturday 27th February. The event, which will be streamed on Wexford GAA TV, will resurrect the awards which were last held in 2016.
Wexford GAA chairman Micheál Martin announced,
“The club championship of 2020 will never be forgotten for many reasons, but despite the challenges, the level of entertainment was exceptionally high. The organisation of these awards will serve many purposes. Firstly, it is an important opportunity to recognise the achievements of our club players in 2020. Secondly, we hope that the selection process will provide an outlet for GAA members to discuss and debate the topic for what we know will be a challenging month of February. We hope that the event itself will be an enjoyable evening for all our members. I would especially like to acknowledge our sponsors of the event, Glen Fuels and the organising committee”.
Managing Director of Glen Fuels, Alan Keyes added,
“On behalf of everybody at Glen Fuels, I’d like to say how delighted we are to continue our association with Wexford GAA and the Cairde Loch Garman Player of the Year Awards.
The awards this year celebrate the Club Players from the four corners of the county in what has been a most difficult year for everybody, both on and off the field. The club game is the heart and soul of the GAA and we are proud to be involved once again.
We most sincerely thank everybody at Wexford GAA for the opportunity to continue our sponsorship of the Wexford GAA Player of the Year Awards, a sponsorship that started in 2013 and one that we hope will continue in the years ahead.”
Five players have been nominated for each position by a panel comprised of the Wexford GAA TV commentators from the 2020 championship. The final decision on who makes the team will be split between a public vote and a selection panel. All those who purchase a link to the Wexford GAA TV event will be sent a link to vote for their player of the year and to select the hurling and football teams of the year. As an added bonus, all those who purchase the link will be entered into a draw for an All-Ireland ticket to the next final played in front of a full capacity crowd in Croke Park.
