Some exciting news, we’re delighted to announce that Wexford’s Corner Boy one of Ireland’s most exciting artists will play in Innovate Wexford Park this Sunday as part of the doubleheader with Limerick.
Corner Boy are fronted by Mick D’Arcy a man with strong Wexford GAA connections (brother of Wexford Camogie’s Mags D’Arcy), while Cian McGovern, brother of hurler Liam Óg is also a member of the group.
Corner Boy have played to almost half a million people on RTÉ’s Late LateShow, the ‘Electric Picnic’ festival and played two sell-out shows in the Spiegeltent as well as Croke Park.
Corner Boy play a mix of modern folk Americana with gospel/blues influences fused with traditional Irish instrumentation. They incorporate traditional Irish music with modern ‘new folk’ sound producing a distinctive, foot stomping sound.
