Wexford GAA is delighted to announce McCauley Health & Beauty Pharmacy as title sponsor for the Wexford GAA Wellness Programme. This programme will focus on physical, social and emotional well-being, inclusion and diversity, as well as life-long learning.
We hope that this initiative will enable us to reach more than 5,500 primary and secondary school children. A vital element of the programme will be education, with Wexford GAA offering leadership advice, athletic development classes and nutritional information to pupils in local post primary schools. The initiative aims to tackle some of the biggest issues facing young people and the community and will be overseen by a dedicated Well-Being Coordinator.
Commenting on the initiative, Chairman of Wexford GAA, Derek Kent said they aim to be the leading organisation in promoting core community values as well as the physical, mental and social well-being of people in the county.
‘We are committed to creating future leaders in sport, community and business life by engaging, educating, and connecting, difficult to reach target audiences across Wexford, including young people, new Irish populations, those with special needs, and older men’, he said.
‘Wexford GAA Wellness is yet another example of how we as an organisation are working to combat the issues facing local communities. We are delighted to have the support of the McCauley brand behind this initiative and feel it is a perfect fit for us’.
Tony McEntee, CEO of McCauley Pharmacy, said: ‘We are proud to be supporting Wexford GAA Wellness. Wexford GAA need to be commended for the development of this innovative and ground-breaking youth wellness programme, the first county in Ireland to do so.’ ‘As a provider of healthcare in our communities we believe the programme will play a vital role in helping the people of Wexford, particularly youths, to understand the importance of physical and mental well-being, and promote inclusion and diversity within local communities.’
