Our opening match of the 2023 Allianz Football League campaign will be a commemorative occasion to mark the 130th anniversary of the 1893 All-Ireland Senior Football victory of Selskar Young Irelands – Wexford’s first-ever All-Ireland victory in any competition.
The match will take place under the new floodlights in Chadwicks Wexford Park on Saturday January 28, with throw-in at 7 p.m.
Our footballers will wear our special commemorative jersey to mark that long-ago victory over Dromtariffe of Cork. Among the other events of the evening will be a chance for young supporters to win a jersey of their own.
