Under 14s
Our Whizzy Interent U14 Hurling Development Squad this year has 53 players. We have had a really good season where we have focussed on enhancing the tactical and technical skills of the players, while also working on their athletic development and on developing them as a squad.
The lads have trained brilliantly since March following their trials and have played many matches throughout the year, both in competition and challenge games.
We have two squads which are split evenly as per competition rules, and both teams will take part in the Tony Forristal and Sonny Walsh tournaments which are being hosted in Waterford. The tournament is being run on a blitz format and the Wexford squads will play Cork West and Cork East in their respective quarter finals on the day.

Under 15s
The U15 hurling squad comprises 51 players. The aim this year was to build on the work done last year. The focus was on tactical development of the players and a lot of work on this has been done through performance analysis and reviews of the games they have played.
There was also a focus on technical development and challenging the boys on an individual basis. In conjunction with the Athletic Development Department under the guidance of Eoin Devine O’Grady, the lads have put in huge work and the results are very encouraging.
The lads have played a number of matches both challenge matches and in the main competitions. The U15’s are divided into A and B teams and both teams have qualified for their respective semi-finals. The A team will play Tipperary in the Arrabawn Tournament and the B team will play Dublin in the John Doyle Tournament, which will both take place in Tipperary.

The U16 Hurling has 48 players. Seven of the squad were part of the 2024 minor hurling panel. The remainder of the squad have been working hard together since the beginning of March, and the seven from the minor panl joined the squad once Wexford’s involvement in the Minor Hurling Championship was concluded.
This group have put a major emphasis on tactical and technical development and have done a lot of work on performance analysis in order to get the group up to speed on the requirements of the modern game. Since late last year, the lads have also had a real focus on their physical development and the work done over the winter and during this season is really starting to pay dividends.
The lads have played a number of competition and challenge games. We have two U16 teams, split A and B. The A team have qualified for the semi-final of the Michael Foley tournament, which we will host in Wexford, and they will play Tipperary in this.
