The young Wexford team ended this year’s very successful Micheal Foley tournament with captain Adrian Redmond lifting the cup on behalf of Wexford for the second year in a row by overcoming Kilkenny in a nail biting finish with a win of 1-6 to 1-5 with the help of a last minute goal by Cormac Moore.
From their opening group games against Antrim beating them 14 points to 3 goals and Offaly beating them 1-10 to 1-1, Wexford showed they were the team to beat in this year’s tournament.
Antrim made there long journey worth while by overcoming Dublin south in the Sheild final 2-5 to 1-6.
Westmeath won the plate final beating Offaly 3-5 to 0-02.
