Wexford ladies football Junior County final
Crossabeg Ballymurn v Clonard (Taghmon 2pm Saturday 25th October)
There is a Wexford district derby in the ladies football junior county final this Saturday at 2pm in Taghmon as Crossabeg Ballymurn and Clonard lock horns in an eagerly anticipated game. Crossabeg Ballymurn will be hoping to make it third time lucky in the Junior A county final after losing out to St Anne’s and Gusserane in the last two finals, but they will face stiff competition from Clonard one of the newer sides in ladies football in Wexford in the last few years.
When the sides clashed in the league stages of the championship it was Crossabeg Ballymurn who took the honours with a 5-10 to 1-9 win. Both sides have very strong panels with numerous inter county minor players involved from recent years including Aleisha Cullen, Katie Redmond, Mairead Cummins, Aoife Tormey, Niamh Butler, Danielle Chin, Rianna Jarrett and Jessica Martin . Going by the laws of average and as the old saying goes third time lucky, this time it may be Crossabeg Ballymurn’s time to step onto the winner podium in Junior.
