The 2021 Wexford GAA Wellness Month in association with McCauley Health & Beauty Pharmacy runs from Saturday 1st May to Sunday 30th May. 

The Wexford GAA Wellness programme, which is in its 3rd year, will have online events, interactive activities, educational webinars, skills challenges and further content for all ages aiming to promote mental health and personal wellbeing during this challenging time. 

The programme which is supported by McCauley Health and Beauty Pharmacy, is kick started on Saturday May 1st by the management and players from the Wexford All Ireland winning 1996 team, who are calling on all Wexford People to partake in the Model Army 96km Charity Challenge. This event acts as a joint fundraiser with 2 local charities, Cottage Autism Network and County Wexford Hospice Homecare. There will also be a weekly slot on South East Radios Morning Mix with Alan Corcoran where he chats to some of the greats of the game. Primary School coaching takes centre stage while there is also webinars on Wellness, Mental Health and Women’s Health. A Reeling in the Years “Wexford Football” Panel discussion is a must watch for all Wexford Football fans.  

Further events include an online family table quiz, club activity challenges, coaching webinars, activities for primary school children, webinars for Post Primary students and skills challenges set by our coaching & games team.

On the final day of the programme, Sunday 30th May, all Wexford supporters all over the world are encouraged to wear their county colours and #WalkWithWexford in their local area with members of their household to promote Health and Wellbeing in their local communities.

3. Gambling Awareness During Covid-19

Individuals with gambling problems may be more servery impacted from Covid-19 due to stress, financial worries, job losses, lack of other social outlets, etc. This can be the case for those who are recovering from a gambling addition as well as those currently experiencing symptoms. This week we hosted a webinar with Oisín McConville, Justin Campbell and Niall McNamee focusing on this topic.
