On Friday 17th May, over 200 TY students from St. Peters and the Loreto attended a Wexford Coaching & Games event in St. Martins. This is the second event of this type run in Wexford after a successful pilot completed in Bellefield in December where over 120 students attended.
The event highlights the need for our young people to be happy within themselves and to make healthy choices in their lives. Paudie Butler and George were our main speakers with Kevin Waters (Alcohol Awareness) and Denis O’Connor (Mental Health Awareness) working with the break out groups.
All our young players got to play our new recreational sports Caman Abu, Peil Abu and some fun games with County Coaches Paul Carty, Kevin Kennedy and Joe Kearns. Our JobBridge Coaches, JJ Doyle, Amy Ryan and Derek Murphy were also a great help in assisting with the huge increase in numbers.
A special thanks to the Teachers for accompanying the Students on the day. Thanks also to St. Martins for the use of their facilities.
