Calling all club Chairpersons, Secretaries, PROs, Coiste Officers and other officers…
- Would you like to save time compiling team sheets in English and Irish?
- Like to know how to send group texts to your members about training and other events?
- Be able to get the best from the GAA email system?
- Know how social media (Twitter/Facebook) can enable your club to connect with your members at home and abroad instantly?
If so then make sure you attend one of the training sessions that the Wexford GAA Communications and Marketing Committee will be holding this month in Gorey and Wexford. These are open to all club secretaries and PRO’s (adult and Coiste) and to other interested club members.
We are holding separate sessions for the Gorey/Enniscorthy Districts and the New Ross/Wexford Districts.
- The Gorey /
Enniscorthy session will take place in Gorey Community School on Monday 18thFeb at 7.30pm. - The Wexford/New Ross district session takes place in St Peters College on Tuesday 26th at 7.30pm.
Each venue is equipped with IT facilities for 30 Clubs (with 30 PC’s available) but if you wish you can bring your laptop and WI-FI should be available – subject to confirmation.
If you are unable to attend the session for your area feel free to attend other districts session.
On the night you will be shown how to get the most from the GAA’s IT system Serva Sport. Serva Sport is currently used by all Wexford clubs to register members at the start of the year but it can do so much more and make life a lot easier for you!
For example :
- You can print off your team sheets for every game at every level your club plays directly from the system in both Irish and English. This will save an enormous amount of messing around with team sheets and printing duplicate books.
- You can use the system to send group text messages to any group of your members that you create e.g. once you have created a junior panel for printing the team sheet you can use that same group for texting about training, matches etc cost 2c per text.
- The information is all on the system, it is just about creating reports to suit each club. I know a lot of clubs have different systems of send texts to their teams, but none of them can send a text to the total membership which is fantastic for communicating with club members about what is going on within the club.
- The GAA email system that in Wexford is mainly used for Club Secretaries but is available to all officers and contains contact for all the GAA organisation. It can be used to set up meetings, share documents and there are many other features that we will show you on the night.
The session on the use of Serva Sport and the GAA email system will take no more than one hour plus 15 minutes then dedicated to showing you how your club can set up and use Twitter to reach out and connect with your members in an exciting new way. Our aim is to have all clubs up on Twitter in the coming months. We hope to see clubs interacting with each other within their league and championship groups, meaning that members and officials will be up to date with news and results that directly affect them. Twitter is a free resource and is a way of communicating with all your players and members instantly.
So Please come on time, we will start at 7.30pm sharp and have you finished and ready to go home at 8.45pm. The best 1 hour and 15 minutes you will spend all year!!
