The Wexford Combined Colleges hurling team had their final challenge game in advance of their Leinster A Championship meeting with Dublin South yesterday. They travelled to Piltown in Kilkenny and faced a stiff challenge in WIT Freshers team (1st year college students).
Their intensity, teamwork and first touch was very impressive and management are exceptionally pleased with the application shown. While of course it will all come down to how they play on the day against Dublin South, the progress and development of these young men as players and men has been heartening and many of them will no doubt progress and be pivotal players for club and county in years to come. Further improvement will be required to overcome the Dublin challenge.
Management and Wexford GAA wish to thank the players schools and parents for their support over the past number of months.
They next play Dublin South at a home venue on Saturday Jan 18th.
