Wexford Bow out of the 2017 championship to the hands of a more battle hardened and a season more experienced Waterford side
Perfection takes time, Even though Wexford fallen short against Waterford, you have to acknowledge that this has been a superb year (All in just a 7 month period) for Wexford. In his first campaign in charge, Davy Fitzgerald has led us to promotion from Division 1B, beaten old rivals Kilkenny in League and Championship (anything after this we were in Bonus territory)and brought us to a Leinster final and restored belief in the county.
Most of Waterford’s scores came from Wexford’s mistakes yesterday mistakes which will not be made by a more experienced Wexford side which we will be going into a new season top flight league campaign and realistic contenders for next years All Ireland.
Waterford enjoyed a five-point advantage at the interval yesterday as a result of the goal and it provided a cushion they could rely on throughout the second half. But the huge positive was a towering display by Liam Ryan, the impact made by Jack O’Connor when introduced and the dazzling showing by teenager Rory O’Connor
