Wexford will face Carlow in the Leinster U21 semi final on Wednesday June 26th after the Barrowsiders pulled off a major shock in defeating Dublin in tonight’s 1/4 final in Dr Cullen Park.
Dublin were red hot favourites with their side containing many of their last 3 minor teams who have performed very well at national level.
Played in slippery conditions after today’s rain, Dublin had a decent lead built up midway through the second half.
Carlow fought back to be just one point behind in injury time 1-11 to 0-13 when with their last attack Marty Kavanagh grabbed a major to win the game on a 1-13 to 1-11 scoreline.
The semi final is to be played in Dr Cullen Park as their last meeting in this grade in 2010 was played in Wexford Park.
