Today Wednesday 5th December Wexford Coaching Office piloted a TY GAA Reach Day in Bellefield. We had over 120 students from Enniscorthy, Wexford and Gorey attending. The day was to try reach out to our young people and encourage them back into the GAA family. To do this we mixed activity sessions with educational briefings to maximise positive influence and effect.
Paudie Butler was our main speaker but we also had George O’Connor, Denis O’Connor (Mental Health), Kevin Waters (Alcohol Awareness) and Clodagh (Meditation). Our Wexford Full-time Coaches introduced Caman Abu and Peil Abu to all Students. Early feedback has been positive. I’ve sent out questionnaires to the schools to get more specific feedback which I will pass on in due course.
My thanks to all contributors, well done on a great day.
A special thanks to the Rapperees GAA Club and Maria Nolan for the use of their facilities.
