Over the coming months Wexford GAA Development squads-will provide the opportunity for an elite group of players to develop individually and as a team within the optimum environment for player development.
Developments and Academy Squads are an integral part of the pathway to elite performance for young Wexford GAA players and is driven by player development and it is to the credit of the dedicated and experience Coaches in Wexford in developing a player centered approach to the development of stars of future Wexford GAA teams.
Development Squads in its current format will: Identify Talent, Give Specif Training, Build Confidence, Develop a young player Physically and Mentally, Develop Team Play and Tactics, Build Team Spirit and Cohesion, Competition Preparation and Further Educate.
We ask all Club members, Mentors and all Wexford GAA Supporters to provide assistance, get behind and support all our Squads and our young players of the future of GAA in Co, Wexford
Our 2013 Squads will be run on a District basis, Enniscorthy, Gorey, New Ross and Wexford. Each of the 4 districts will have a director to oversee the squad,
Training of our U-14, 15 and 16 Development Hurling Squads begins this Saturday 2nd March and will continue over the next 8 weeks
New Ross District: venue, Horeswood
U-14 @ 11am, U-15 @ 12pm
Wexford District: venue, St Martins
U-14 @ 11am, U-15 @ 12pm.
Enniscorthy District: venue, Rathnure
U-14 @ 11am, U-15 @ 12pm.
Gorey District: venue, Buffers Alley
U-14 @ 12pm, U-15 @ 1pm
U-16 training will also commence on Saturday and players will be contacted by GAA text with time and Venues
U-17 Group dates will be confirmed shortly
