The very best of Wexford’s vibrant music scene will showcase at the festival this year. “Cornerboy” following last year’s success will again headline the festival. “Morning, Morning,” ”Sunlight”, “Let’s Hit the Road” and “Move to Paris” are sure to rock the Shedfest with their distinctive blend of traditional instruments with contemporary musical themes.
Gorey’s” 5 Dollar Shakes” continue on their upward curve and will bring their infectious energy to Shedfest. Their music is influenced by indie, rock, pop, punk and dance resulting in a powerful but accessible sound. ”Auxiliary Love,” ”Come and See Enough to Stay,” “Back to the Start Again” will showcase their energy and enthusiasm and get the Shedfest rocking.
This year, in association with Beat 102103, we ran a Battle of the Bands competition. Over 20 bands entered and a short list of 5 went through to a public vote. “Fit For Kings” a 5 piece rock/pop band from Wexford town topped the poll of almost 8000 votes. They have released a number of singles “Heartache,” “Love Ain’t Like the Movies” and their latest offering “Paralysed”. A young band with a bright future.
Novella Hermosa fronted by Ballygarrett’s own Luke Cosgrave complete the impressive line-up. The 6 piece rock outfit have an impressive list of credits to their name with some special songs like “Broken Glass”, ”No More”, “Worry” and “ Butterfly in Rain”. Luke’s electric violin is sure to be one of the many highlights of this year’s festival. Check out all the bands, promotions, competitions and gossip on our Shedfest Facebook page.
Resident DJ Nigel Quaid has been with us since day one and he’ll keep the floor filled with his mix of the very latest chart toppers and classic hits. Shedfest has a dedicated taxi rank operating all night thanks to Mick Stamp Taxis and Bus Hire. There will be a Late Bar and as per usual the ticket price includes BBQ specials served by Chef Kennedy till midnight.
We’d like to thank the public for their continued support for the last seven years and making Shedfest such a great success.
