Wexford GAA are delighted to announce that we will be proposing John Hegarty as our new Senior Football Manager for ratification at the County Committee meeting on 20 September 2022. John’s backroom team will be finalised in advance and announced at this meeting also.
A native of Kilanerin and now living in Wexford, John played 105 times for Wexford during his intercounty career spanning from 1995 to 2006, scoring 21-125 in the process. John won one Intermediate and six Senior Football Championships with Kilanerin, a Railway Cup with Leinster and a Sigerson Cup with UCD. As manager, he has won Senior Football Championships with Kilanerin (player/manager) and Shelmaliers.
We wish John every success in his tenure as Senior Football Manager.
