Congratulations to Seán Ormonde who was appointed President of Wexford GAA at the March County Board meeting held in the Sarsfield’s clubhouse in Páirc Charman, Wexford on Tuesday 1st March.
Seán has had a life-time of involvement in the GAA as a player, mentor and administrator. A member of the Junior hurling championship winning team of 1957, he went on to play football and hurling up to 1972. Having played for many years in both hurling and football, he went on to successfully manage underage and adult teams in the 1970’s. He is currently the Chairman of his club.
A sterling servant to his club, St. Brigid’s of Blackwater, perhaps he is better known for his involvement at county level, having served as Scór Chairperson for over fifteen years and is currently involved with Leinster Scór. During his time with Scór Loch Garman he has promoted participation in Scór when many national titles came to Wexford.
Seán was Honorary Secretary of Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Loch Garman from 1985 to 1992, a role he performed with unstinting dedication while also working full-time outside of the GAA.
Seán is wished well in his new role in Wexford GAA.
