As in past years Wexford GAA Coaching and Games GAA on the Quay promises to be another day of great GAA Fun on the Quay front in Wexford this Saturday
This year there will be two pitches set up end to end with games taking place simultaneously throughout the day from 9am to 5pm See Full Day’s Fixtures below
We have expanded this year’s event to Gaelic football from the traditional Hurling on the Quay! We are looking forward to seeing some great football skills on show this year too.
We have also partnered with the Wexford RNLI in the promotion of water safety. We will be running a competition on the day association with the Wexford RLNI around Promoting water safety. The RNLI will have an anchored pontoon floating on the river, and will have a boat in the water, Wexford GAA will have a station a safe distance from the pier Surrounded by barriers, where people will try to either kick or puck a ball into the RNLI pontoon. There will be prizes for a successful shot. The RNLI will be collecting the balls and returning them to the pier.
This event is for U8’s but you may use U7’s if needed. Teams will be a maximum of 10 per side with roll on roll off subs. We will be flexible with this on the day and can always work out a solution if clubs find numbers changing at short notice.
This event has become one of the stand out days in the Wexford GAA calendar and we are sure 2018 will be no different! Diarmuid Byrne is coordinating the event but any of the Games Development Team will be able to help. Looking forward to seeing you on the day and hope the skies stay blue.
