ALLIANZ/ INTO RACKARD LEAGUE MINI SEVENS UPDATE
The Allianz/ INTO mini sevens competitions are up and running and are approaching the semi final stage. Once again there has been a tremendous response from the schools with a huge level of participation in all competitions. The boys football and camogie are at an advanced stage and the third round fixtures are as follows
Boys Football Monday 28th March
Group 1 Mersheen at 1pm
Duncannon/Ballyhack
Rathgarogue
Piercestown( Holders)
Group 2 Belfield at 1pm
St. Aidan’s
Curracloe
Gorey
Camogie
Thursday 24th in Shamrocks at 1pm
Group 1 St. Senan’s, Oulart, Monaseed
Group 2 Craanford, Monageer, Rathnure
Winners of group 1 and group 2 will play off in semi final
Tuesday 29th in Killurin at 1pm
Group3 Glynn, Murrintown, Poulfour
Group 4 Taghmon, Piercestown, Curracloe
Group winners will play off in semi final.
Details of the girl’s football and hurling will be in next weeks update.
There will be at least 6 players selected to participate in the half time exhibition games in Croke Park during the summer. There will be a skills competition to select a player for the hurling and girls football games.
The Allianz Rackard League hurling and camogie competitions are fixed to begin on the week beginning April 4th. There will be another round of games the following week and competitions will resume after the Easter break. The finals are scheduled for early June.
The entries for the Rounders competitions are now due and handball workshops have replaced the traditional competitions and there has been a positive response to this initiative.
The Rackard League Sports Day has been fixed for Wednesday 18th of May and details will be sent to schools in the coming weeks.
