Well the group stages are over after five rounds of hurling, and back in February when the draw was made, who would have predicted that Buffers Alley would find themselves in a relegation battle, facing possible demotion to the Intermediate ranks. While in Group B, most expected new boys Adamstown to be relegated, the former hurling kingpins better known for the last 50 odd years for their prowess with the big ball, progress to the knockout stages at expense of the Rapps and Cloughbawn!
Yes this has been an exciting, and sometime surprising series of games and we can now look forward to the knockout and relegation games with some relish.
In Group A, the Wexford town side, Faythe Harriers topped the group showing the town boys are on the up. While the winners of Group B was no surprise, as county Champions Oulart were emphatic winners, winning five out of five, topping the group on 10 points.
So the line up for the Quarter Finals are as follows (fixtures to be confirmed).

- St Martin’s -v- Shelmaliers
- Faythe Harriers -v- Adamstown
While in the relegation play offs it’s Raparees, Cloughbawn, Buffers Alley and Glynn-Barntown. The draw to decide these fixtures will take place tomorrow night, Monday 20th August.
