A great away win for Wexford today, news to follow later.
There is always a great deal of interest in Wexford in the fortunes of our Minor hurlers and this year is no different. Willie Cleary came in this year as team manager, taking over from ’96 hero Martin Storey.
Willie came to the job with an impressive CV, including managing the UCD FitzGibbon team at 20 years old, followed by a stint with St Vincent’s and Rathnure and has brought a freshness to preparations.
The team now face a significant challenge as they travel to Kilkenny to take on the young Cats in the Leinster Quarter Final! Kilkenny have already accounted for Laois this year so come in on a high, while this will be Wexford’s first competitive game of 2013. Home advantage is often said to be important, especially at underage and this will be a mental and physical test for the Wexford lads.
The game takes place in Nowlan Park on Saturday 4th May at 3.00pm.
Admission on Saturday will be to the old stand only through stiles 28 to 31 on O’Loughlin Road. Admission will be €10 and €5 concessions.
