New York Minor Board to host U16 Centenary Cup Tournament in 2014
To celebrate 100 years of Gaelic Games in New York the New York Minor Board would like to invite your team to participate in Centenary Cup for U16’s in May 2014. The New York Minor Board has been active since 1970 in the promotion of Gaelic Games in America and now boast 13 clubs and 1500 Children participating in the largest overseas youth program of Gaelic Games outside of Ireland. The NYMB have been participating annually in the Feile Peil Na Nog since 1991 and are now in Division 1 of the competition following their victory in the Division 2 Competition this year.
The Minor Board are looking to share in the celebrations of 100 years of the GAA in New York by inviting your club team to participate in our Centenary Cup. This would be a Once in A Lifetime opportunity for any club allowing you the opportunity to experience Gaelic Games here in America whilst also enjoying the sites and attractions that the Big Apple has to offer. If your club is not able to attend in May 2014 the Minor Board can accomodate any age group of teams wishing to come out and play football against teams here in New York. Over the years several underage teams have come out from Ireland and been part of the Gaelic Park experience most recently this year the Castlebar Mitchells and Swinford clubs from county Mayo who sent out their U18 girls teams to play here.
The NYMB would be delighted to assist in any way in terms of helping teams source accomodation, transport or assisting with an intinerary to make the experience as enjoyable as possible for Players, Mentors or parents alike.
