A record attendance for the 2017 County Convention took place on Monday night and saw the re-election of the outgoing management committee. Excellent presentations were delivered by Willie Cleary on the Hurling 365 primary schools initiative and by Mícheál Mahon and his team on the potential for increasing commercial revenue. Motions were passed regarding the availability of inter-county players to club
teams, particularly during April, on amending the current rule that under 20 footballers called up to intercounty senior teams are thus not available to the U20 squad (to vary this for teams in divisions 3 and 4), on affording official recognition to the Club Players’ Association and on ensuring that every delegate’s vote at Congress or Special Congress is recorded and published.
