Background
To ensure that all clubs and county boards are following a best practice approach to the use of social media like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn a document has been put together to help, educate and guide those who use social media in an official GAA capacity. This will be published in the next edition of GAA Club newsletter.
These guidelines will evolve over time as new technology and platforms emerge.
What clubs must do?
All Clubs must register their Official Club Website, and any other Social Media used by your Club with the County PRO in the coming months.
All of these outlets must start with the word ‘Official’ e.g. “Official Horeswood GAA”
This is to ensure that a common set of guidelines and policies are in place so that we are all working in unison as one GAA family. In that way, anyone who speaks on behalf of the GAA is authorised, ensuring we work together to give the GAA an appealing online presence.
Only Clubs who conform to these guideline will be allowed re post or carry links to other GAA sites be they Club, County, Province or National.
Please read the guide lines below and start the changeover as soon as possible as we intend to have a strong Wexford GAA presence on line this year. Do not let your Club be left behind!
