Below is the new U12 Go Games Format for 2013 season
The following format is phase 1 of a two phase format which was passed by Wexford Underage clubs recently
- Groups of 6 hurling and football – giving 5 games each in each code in phase 1
- Teams grouped based on combination of numbers and quality if possible Ie teams with capability for 2 teams paired together so that they can all play at the 1 venue on the 1 night rather than 2 teams going in different directions
- Initial numbers assessment based on refined version of grading questionnaire which sets out the numbers in the club at each age group
- Teams also paired based on geographic considerations where possible
- Move to peer assessment model in conjunction with grading system for 2014 for initial pairings and gradings
- Results of matches are informally recorded for grading purposes only to ensure that clubs play teams of comparable ability and submitted to County Board. Responsibility of home team to submit report
- Phase 1 Starts on 1st of April and ends by Mid July (provision to be made for Rackard League fixtures)
This model requires 100% co-operation of the clubs to ensure that scores are submitted which allows seamless move from Phase 1 to Phase 2
- Teams are paired in Phase 2 based on results from Phase 1
- Based results recorded in Phase 1 Phase 2 starts on 1st of July with Groups of 4 – giving 3 games each in phase 2 (Results recorded for grading purposes only)
- Finals Blitzes are played in 1st 2 weeks of September based on teams abilities from Phase 1 and Phase 2 in groups of 4 (Provided full cooperation from the clubs so that Phase 1 and Phase 2 flows seamlessly)
- Scoring in blitzes as done currently
- Total County fixtures 9 hurling and 9 football
