With the Bank holiday weekend upon us the past few days have been a mixed bag of results on the playing field.
On Wednesday night the U21 hurlers bowed out of the 2016 championship after 3 great years of Leinster titles.
They had put in an excellent first half against the wind, holding Dublin to only 7 points while scoring 4 in reply.
The prospects looked good when we pointed early but two goals in as many minutes for Dublin changed the course of the game in their favour. Dublin now advance to host Westmeath in the semi final.
On Thursday evening our other reigning Leinster champions, the Junior footballers, hosted Longford in Innovate Wexford Park.
Longford held a slight lead for most of the first half but a Niall Harney goal before the break put Wexford in the driving seat. They went on to win on a scoreline of 1-15 to 1-9
A young team, the scores came from 8 different players and 1-14 of the total coming from play.
They now face Louth in the Leinster final on June 22nd.
